This 5’ x 7’ Classic Shed with apex roof has been installed in our customer’s garden to store their garden furniture in.
Now that autumn has officially begun and the cooler weather is setting in, the customer thought they would get rid of their old shed that was on the verge of collapse, and get a new one for their sun loungers and foldable furniture.
It is only a small shed, but that is all they need to fit in what they need to; it has a single door in the gable end, and a window in the left-hand side to allow a bit of light inside.
There is felt on the roof to protect it from harsh weather, and the cladding on the Classic Shed is shiplap, the same as with the rest of our garden buildings. Shiplap is our standard form of cladding; a plane is used on the timber in the factory to make it smooth, and then the planks of timber are slotted together to give a wall of solid, smooth timber.
To finish the cladding, the timber has been painted using our Light Oak preservative. This preservative is the standard coating we give all of our garden buildings, just so that they have some form of protection when they get installed. Many of our customers opt to paint their building themselves after it has been installed, but this doesn’t happen straight away, so it is always best to have a base coat of preservative on just to give the timber some protection until the customer gets round to painting it.
