Customer Photo Competition

We love seeing photos of our buildings in our customers’ gardens, which is why we launched our Customer Photo Competition!  

Every three months we review all entries and share our top four on our Facebook and Instagram channels. The winner chosen by our followers receives either a case of wine or £100 in John Lewis vouchers. 

Whether you received your building 20 years ago or just yesterday, we’d love to hear from you! 

How to enter

It’s simple:

1. Take a picture of your Crane Garden Building in all its glory.
2. Email it to us at marketing@cranegardenbuildings.co.uk - include your full name and your social media links if you have them (so we can tag you if you win).

What’s the process?

1. Submit Your Photo
   Send us your best shot of your garden building for a chance to win!
   
   
2. Shortlist Selection
   Our marketing team reviews all entries and picks up to four finalists to share on our Facebook and Instagram pages. 
   
   
3. Finalists Announced
   If you’re a finalist, we’ll email you with a link to the post. If you have social media, you can spread the word by sharing the post with friends, family, and followers!
   
   
4. Votes Tallied
   The winner will be picked by the majority combined number of likes and reactions on Facebook, and commented votes or poll responses on Instagram.
   
   
5. Winner Revealed
   We’ll announce the winner and get in touch directly by email to claim their prize. 

Top 5 photography tips to help you WIN:

1. Make the most of your photography equipment
   You don’t need a fancy camera to capture a stunning photo - many of our past winners have used smartphones. One simple trick is to enable gridlines in your camera settings. This keeps your shot level and makes it easier to use the rule of thirds. Position your garden building along the intersecting lines to to create a balanced, professional-looking photo. And before you snap, make sure to clean your lens thoroughly. Sometimes a smudge or fingerprint ruins the perfect photo! 
   
   
2. Take your photo on a bright day
   We want your garden building to be shown in its best light - literally! Taking your photo on a bright day ensures the details are clear and the colours pop. While sunshine adds a cheerful mood, don’t worry if it’s autumn or winter because some of our favourite entries have featured golden leaves or a dusting of snow. A few of our winners even had their garden building decorated for a holiday (e.g. Halloween, Easter, Christmas).
   
   
3. Go landscape
   The best orientation for your photo is landscape. It’s the best way to get your garden building in your photo without being too far away. Plus, you can include all the beautiful surroundings. Which brings us to... 
   
   
4. Include your garden in the shot!
   Let it be no secret that you love spending time in your garden. Try to include some of your garden in the shot and if you have any furry four-legged friends looking to make their modelling debut, we'd love to see them!
   
   
5. Quality is key
   Make sure to attach the photo to your email as a full-size file instead of dragging or pasting it into the email body. This way, we can see all the beautiful detail.

Terms and Conditions

Entry into our competition will be deemed as acceptance of the following terms and conditions:

1. Competition entrants must be residents of the UK and over 18 years old.
   
   
2. Once the nominations have been posted, the competition will run for 5 days, and the winner will be announced at 12:30pm on the 5th day. 
   
   
3. In the event of a tie-break, the final decision will be made by the employees of Crane Garden Buildings.
   
   
4. The nominations will be posted on Facebook and Instagram with the likes/votes being consolidated on the final day to reveal the winning photo. 
   
   
5. Anyone who has previously purchased a Crane Garden Building may enter the competition. To enter, send a photo featuring your garden building purchased from us directly to marketing@cranegardenbuildings.co.uk including your full name and your Instagram handle. In some instances, we may ask for your order number as confirmation of the purchase before being entered into the competition.
   
   
6. We will take competition submissions throughout the year, and we will choose a winner on the following dates: 4th March, 4th June, 4th September, and 4th December.
   
   
7. The winner of the competition will be notified via email within 28 days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, Crane Garden Buildings reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
   
   
8. Entry is limited to one photo per order per competition.
   
   
9. The prize is not exchangeable for cash or any other substitute.
   
   
10. Crane Garden Buildings reserves the right to amend the rules of this competition without notice. If we do amend the rules, we will publish the amended competition rules here in the terms and conditions.
    
    
11. All competitions are not endorsed, sponsored, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, or any other social media platform. You are providing your information to Crane Garden Buildings and not to any other party.
    
    
12. Previous winners are not permitted to enter any items of that same winning order in subsequent competitions.
    
    
13. Crane Garden Buildings accepts no responsibility for entries not received for whatever reason.
    
    
14. Crane Garden Building’s decisions regarding the competition will be final.
    
    
15. By entering the competition, you are consenting to the use of the photo on the Crane Garden Buildings website and social media platforms.
