The Challenge & The Vision
When Jenny and her family began looking for extra space at their home in Cringleford, near Norwich, they initially considered building a traditional house extension. However, after weighing up the high potential costs, substantial site disruption, and lengthy timeline required for construction, they decided to explore alternative options.
After researching high-end outdoor solutions, Jenny realised a garden studio would deliver the generous extra living space her family desired, alongside far greater design flexibility and overall value. Desiring a sleek, contemporary aesthetic that complemented their outdoor area, she chose the Crane Holt Studio.

• Full Insulation, Lining & Heating: Ensures the building maintains a comfortable ambient temperature 365 days a year, turning a standard garden building into a genuine year-round room.
• Electrical Pack & Bluetooth Sockets: As Jenny opted for our electrical pack she was able to easily upgrade the standard sockets for Bluetooth-enabled sockets, allowing the family to turn on heating and lighting remotely before even stepping out of the house.
• Seamless Outdoor Wi-Fi & Media Integration: By extending their home Wi-Fi into the garden studio, the family integrated a television for streaming workouts and entertainment during training sessions.
The Lifestyle Impact: Dual-Purpose Fitness & Relaxation
By stepping away from a dedicated public gym membership and moving their equipment home, Jenny created a personalised, high-convenience fitness zone right outside her back door. The studio easily accommodates both a rowing machine and a static bike, while the integrated TV makes daily workouts far more enjoyable. Crucially, the space was engineered for more than just exercise. Jenny thoughtfully styled the studio to double as a quiet garden escape for the entire family.
“Alongside our rowing machine and static bike, we have two rotating armchairs which gives us somewhere comfortable to sit and enjoy the space too,” Jenny explains.
