Our Superior Garden Sheds are robust and ideal for secure storage, a hobby room or workshop.

Available in a wide range of sizes, you can have a simple shed, or we can tailor your building to include extra features, such as electrics, lining and insulation, and a security pack.

To obtain a price for your ideal garden shed, please click on the Create My Shed tab below.

Building Sizes

Our Sheds and Workshops are available in a wide range of standard sizes, and we can tailor make sizes as well, from the very small, to the very large, all depending on your needs.

If you would like to know more about our non-standard sizes and designs, please contact us on 01760 444229 with your queries.

Building Designs

Choose either a pent or apex roofed design to suit your space and personal requirements. You can then decide where you would like your doors and windows, and if you require a higher eave height.

Apex Roof - Door(s) in Gable

Apex Roof - Door(s) in Side

Pent Roof - Door(s) in Gable

Pent Roof - Door(s) in Side

Door Options

Our framed, ledged and braced doors are mortise and tenoned together for strength and rigidity. All our doors are made in-house by our joiners, ensuring the high quality that we expect is met. We make each door to order so you can choose a single door, a double door set, windows within doors, or even extra door sets, depending on your building needs

Single Door

Our shed doors are framed, ledged and braced for extra strength. A single shed door is a generous 850mm x 1800mm (2'9 x 6') opening.

Double Doors

Opt for a double door if you need to get larger items easily in and out of your building, this gives an opening of 1700mm x 1800mm (5'6 x 6').

Doors with Windows

Add a window to your door to allow additional light inside and to enhance the look of your building.

Additional Doors

Additional doors are helpful if you are planning to split the building into different sections (i.e. one end a workshop the other a storage shed). We can also add partitions.

Window Options

The windows are also made in-house by our joiners: they measure 610 x 610mm (2’ x 2’), they are made from 75 x 50mm framing and are finished with 4mm toughened safety glass. You can choose where you would like your windows, whether you would like to make any opening, or indeed whether you would prefer no windows at all.

You can opt for additional windows and double glazed windows if you require them, and we can also offer Georgian effect windows, or Velux® windows in the roof to suit your needs.

Additional Windows

You may wish to increase the number of windows in your building for added light.

Opening Windows

Substitute any fixed window for an opening sash. Our opening sashes are top hung and are fitted with a brass casement stay.

Georgian Windows

Have Georgian windows for a more traditional look and added style.

Double Glazing

Have your windows double glazed for added insulation and reduced condensation.

Velux® Roof Windows

Add one or more Velux® windows to your building to gain extra natural light, perfect if your shed will be surrounded by tall shrubs.

Cladding Options

Our timber cladding is machined from very high quality Redwood grown in Northern Sweden, close to the Arctic Circle.

Due to the low temperature in this part of the world, these slowly grown trees produce a much more dense and stable timber than others. The timber mill we partner with, and have very close links to, is FSC® certified like ourselves.

We machine our cladding into particularly thick boards, and because it's a slowly grown timber with an exceptionally close grain, the additional benefits of our cladding are its strength and durability. We machine a capillary groove into our shiplap to reduce the risk of water ingress; and also give our shiplap rounded edges so that paints and stains grab and adhere with maximum effectiveness and coverage.

We clad your building in shiplap as standard, but we also offer weatherboard cladding for a more rustic finish.

Shiplap Cladding - (ex 19 x 125mm)

We machine our shiplap into particularly thick boards. Our Joiners plane the shiplap giving a smooth surface finish, which looks great painted.

Weatherboard Cladding - (21>8 x 125mm)

Our weatherboard cladding is machined from the same high quality timber as the shiplap, but is left sawn which gives a more rustic look to your building.

Floor Options

Our standard and robust floorboards are set on closely spaced tanalised floor joists, but we can also offer heavy duty flooring if you are planning on storing particularly heavy items or machinery inside your new Superior Shed.

Should you be spending long periods of time in your shed then we would also advise on our underfloor insulation.

Standard ex 19mm thick

Heavy Duty ex 38mm thick

Roofing Options

With our Superior Sheds, we offer a wide range of roofing material options, so whether you want a standard, simple shed, or something a bit more attractive, we can help.

Heavy Duty Felt

This is our standard roofing material: it is an extreme wear, heavy duty, 35kg green mineralised felt that is a non-rip material, and is applied with a propane torch to increase its longevity.

Cedar Shingle Tiles

We use only the finest quality Canadian Blue Label Cedar Shingles expertly tiled by our own skilled craftsmen. They give a traditional finish, and the original terracotta colour will 'silver' with age. They are expected to last 25-35 years.

Slate Effect Tiles - Grey

These individually laid synthetic slates bring nature and technology together to provide the ultimate protection against UV rays, wind, hail and fire.

Slate Effect Tiles - Terracotta

Opt for a more traditional grey, or choose terracotta for a different look. The terracotta goes well with the lighter shades in our paint ranges.

Security Pack

Our Sheds and Workshops are exceptionally strong and robust. We have devised a unique Security Pack that will complement this structure and be of benefit if any items of value are to be stored inside.

Since the introduction of our Security Pack in 1994 theft from our customers sheds has been virtually eradicated. We offer a 3 step Security Pack consisting of window bars mortised into the window frames, non-returnable screws are used on the hinges of the door, and we have worked with a lock manufacturer to produce our unique 7 lever security lock.

Security Lock

A heavy duty sliding bolt with a fully steel encased 7 lever lock. It is anti-sawing, anti-picking, anti-cropping and anti-prising. Each lock has its own unique pair of keys.

Security Screws

Non-returnable security screws on the hinges of the door make it impossible to unscrew hinges.

Window Bars

13mm (1/2 inch) stainless steel bars are mortised into the window frame during manufacture.

Paint Systems

Our sheds and Workshops come treated with light oak wood preservative as standard, which protects the timber from fungi and woodworm and gives the timber a natural looking sheen. We also offer three paint ranges to choose from: these are Valtti, Farrow & Ball and Sikkens, to give the best possible paint options for your building.

Lining and Insulation

In order for you to use your building all year-round, to increase your comfort and decrease any noise levels, we can line and insulate our Superior Sheds, which also finishes the inside off in an attractive manner.

If you choose to have the oak faced ply lining, insulation in the walls and ceiling will be included as well. Floor insulation can be chosen separately.

Insulation

For Sheds and Workshops we firstly trap a breathable paper membrane between the studwork and the external cladding during manufacture to act as a moisture trap, before insulating.

Oak Faced Ply Lining

The wall cavity is filled with 80mm thick insulation throughout, and the ceiling is insulated as well. We then fix the oak faced 12mm (1/2 inch) plywood internally.

Expertly Finished

The oak facing gives a warm finish, and it is robust enough to handle any shelving, hooks etc. Battens are also used for an attractive finish.

Skirting Boards

For that extra finishing touch, we fit skirting boards along the floor to achieve a polished look that our customers really appreciate.

Roof Overhang

A roof overhang can provide additional protection to the facade of your building, as well as offer shade and rain coverage. The overhang can also give a more cabin-style design finish.

Electric Pack

For lighting and using any equipment in your building, you may wish to consider our electric pack. Professionally fitted by qualified electricians who take all the wiring to a consumer unit ready for you to connect to your electricity supply. Internal wiring will be fitted behind any internal lining, and we can also supply your building with a heater, if you so wish.

If you choose to have an electric pack, you will get:

4 double 13 amp switched MK sockets

A gang light switch

A waterproof double external 13 amp socket - MK

An 8 way consumer unit: the main switch takes 2 slots - 63 amp MCB - 16 amp and 6 amp blanks

A fluorescent single light fitting (more are supplied depending on the size of the shed)

A Thermostatic 2kva wall heater (this is optional)

Partitions

Make your building multi-functional by sectioning the space into separate rooms.

Workbenches

Add your chosen size workbench to your building to aid your DIY or hobby needs. Our workbenches are 900mm tall, and 600mm deep, and for a solid, sturdy finish, we use oak-faced plywood.

Guttering

Guttering collects the water run-off from the roof and then deposits the water away from the building. This stops the bottom boards rotting prematurely, adding longer to the life of your building.

We add the guttering and a downpipe along both eaves of an apex roofed shed, and on a pent roofed shed we add the guttering and downpipe along the lowest side/eave of the roof. The addition of guttering also allows you to install a water butt, if you would like to.

Our guttering is available in either black or white.

Base

All our buildings require a level, solid concrete base of the correct size.

The single most important part of installing a garden building is the base. Bases must be:

  • LEVEL
  • Of the correct size
  • Square i.e. have right angled corners

A concrete base supports your building in the best possible way, adding longevity, as well as creating a substantial distance between your building and surface water.

We can supply a 100mm deep reinforced concrete base ready for your building, laid by our professionals, in advance of your building being installed by us. The site must be clear and reasonably level for us to do this.

The base should always be a minimum of 50mm out of the ground to prevent surface water or puddles affecting your building i.e. rotting it.

The base you have must be made to the plans we give you when you order your building, whether we install the base, or you get a trusted builder to do it for you.

Bases for larger buildings, and in particular garages, need to be built to exact dimensions - we create special base drawings for our garages, since they sit directly on the concrete base and must be anchored into place.

Always get your garden building base laid by a professional, whether that is us, or a local builder you trust.

We constantly strive to ensure all our materials and techniques are the best that we can source and provide. We lead the market in producing exceptional quality timber buildings: couple this with our personal, end-to-end service, and you will be delighted with your building.

Side Walls - ex 19 x 125mm shiplap cladding on ex 38 x 75mm planed framing, all using high grade Northern Scandinavian Redwood.

Doors - 850 wide opening x 1760mm high mortise and tenoned, framed ledged and braced door, hung with the use of 3 @ 400mm zinc plated 'T' hinges and secured with a pad bolt (a security pack with a seven lever lock is also an option). Double door measurements are 1700 wide opening x 1760mm high.

Door Frame - ex 75 x 75mm planed.

Windows - 610mm square set in a joinery-made window frame fitted with 4 mm toughened safety glass. A 1.8m length shed gets 1 window, and every 0.6m above this receives 1 extra window (included in your price) to a maximum of 6 windows. You can choose extra windows (if they fit), or alternatively, you do not have to have any windows at all.

Floor - ex 19 x 125mm tongue and groove floorboards on ex 38 x 75mm tanalized planed floor joists set at no more than 450mm centres.

Roof - ex 19 x 125mm tongue and groove match boarding, on ex 38 x 75mm planed framing covered with green mineralised 35Kg roofing felt. Trusses are used on all buildings 3.6m long and above. The heat-bonded felt is included in the price of our Superiors as standard, although there are other roof coverings available (please see the Options tab for further details).

Height - You will receive a shed with generous 2.0m eaves as standard, or if you are restricted on height, you can choose the 1.85m eave height.

Preservative - Your building comes fully treated internally and externally with a light oak preservative, protecting against fungi and woodworm. There are also 3 different paint systems to choose from, for an increased redecoration cycle and a more attractive finish. For more information on these paint systems, please see the Options tab.

Our experienced and professional fitting team deliver and install all our buildings to anywhere on the UK mainland free of charge.

As our business is very much dependant on our reputation in providing an excellent product and service, our customer care is exceedingly important to us and you will find that we very much pride ourselves on this. From the design stage, right through to installation, providing the best possible service is our number one priority.

Each building we make is designed and built to order, which means that we can make the building in such a way that it will fit through restricted access areas and be installed exactly where the building is required; however, if you have any concerns about the access to your garden, please contact us and we will be able to advise you.

Please also note that our installation team requires a flat, solid and level base to install your building on. If you have any questions about this at all, we will be more than happy to help if you call us on 01760 444229.

Our Guide to Planning Permission for Garden Buildings

Garden sheds and other timber garden buildings are subject to the same planning permission rules as other types of outbuildings. Very few of our buildings will require planning permission to be installed in your garden; it is mainly dependent on where you wish to put it in your garden and if you should live in an area that has been deemed to be an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or similar.

Shed and Workshop Extras

A garden shed can be just a shed of course. It is worth investing in a good quality build, using good quality timber, to increase the longevity of the building, but it still ultimately a shed. But a shed or workshop can be so much more than that with a few simple additions...

Focus on Insulated Garden Buildings

Many people purchase a garden building and love spending time in it during the warm spring and summer months, but, once autumn arrives, barely step foot in it again until the next year. We believe that timber garden buildings should not be restricted to use just during a few months of the year, but should be enjoyed the whole year round, whatever the weather.
