As some of you may already be aware, we are donating all of the plants that we used in our RHS Chelsea and Hampton Court Palace Flower Shows this year to the new location of the Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House.
Next week, the 19th-23rd October, a large planting session will be taking place at The Norfolk Hospice to finish off the courtyard area, and we would love to have a few extra pairs of hands to help us along a bit. Whether for a day, half a day, an hour or half an hour, we will appreciate any time you can spare to help complete the courtyard and help the Hospice get one step closer to being ready to open.
There will hopefully be a fair amount of volunteers across the week, especially since The RHS have got their Campaign for School Gardening in full swing now; the East of England Regional Campaigner, Alison Findlay, has arranged for five or six schools to come and help us out next week. This campaign is a great way to try and get children interested in gardening, so if you’re an enthusiastic gardener and are thinking of coming along, you could help inspire some of these children, as well as help out the Hospice.
We have already held several planting sessions over the past few months, getting the groundwork started for the courtyard area, and planting shrubs and bushes on the large embankments around the building, and this will be a large step in completing our work for the Hospice.
If you fancy some fresh air and a bit of gardening, you will be more than welcome to pop along anytime in the week. There will be plenty of teas and coffees going around to warm up with, along with some great company.
