Our latest customer story comes from a customer based in Nottinghamshire who has transformed their Superior Shed into a fully functioning pottery workshop!

Our customer bought this Superior Shed with a view to turn it into a creative space for his wife, where she could work on creating bespoke and unique pottery and silverwork pieces for her online ceramics and jewellery business.
He opted for a shed that measures 3.6 x 3.0m (12 x 10ft) so that there was ample space for his wife to work inside, as well as room for her to display some of her completed pieces. To make sure that the shed met local planning regulations, it has an internal height of 1.85m.

This Superior Shed, like all of our garden buildings, was designed by our in-house CAD engineers who drew the manufacturing plans to meet our customer’s requirements at our HQ in Narford, Norfolk. It was then hand-built to order by the team of skilled craftsmen and women inside our factory, also located at our HQ. To get the building to our customer’s address, it was delivered and assembled by members of our expert installations team.

In order to make the building suitable for use throughout the year, our customer has opted to line it inside with oak faced ply and added full insulation so his wife can comfortably use it in every season. He has also added one of our 900mm tall and 600mm deep oak faced ply workbenches so that she had a strong and sturdy work space to practise her craft. This Superior Shed has also had an electric pack added on as extra so it could be supplied with both lighting and power inside.
To help make the building into their own, our customer has added a shelving unit that hosts a variety of her different ceramic pieces as well as additional shelving underneath the workbench where all of her supplies are kept. There is also a kiln in the corner which is used to turn her clay works into pottery masterpieces.

To add extra protection to the works that are stored inside, our customer has chosen to add a security pack to their building which consists of stainless steel bars mortised into the window frames, non-returnable security screws in the door hinges that are impossible to unscrew and a seven lever lock with a heavy-duty sliding bolt that is anti-sawing, anti-picking, anti-prising and anti-cropping.
Other features of this building include an apex roof covered in heavy-duty felt, smooth shiplap cladding treated with a Sikkens wood stain in the colour Walnut and five windows, two of which are opening.
