This vibrant, woodcutter’s hut style building is a 2.4 x 2.4m Superior Shed
, and we have installed it in our customer’s garden in Coventry in the West Midlands to use as a small workshop.
The apex roof has an overhang over the front gable to offer some protection for the door, which itself has been positioned to the right of this panel rather than the centre to allow for more practical wall space.
The covering the customer chose to go on this apex roof is our slate effect tiles, which are made of a highly durable composite material that have a 50-year warranty on them, and they will protect the roof from wind, rain, hail and fire.
The colours available in these tiles are grey or red (terracotta): this customer chose the terracotta tiles, which are a vibrant colour that matches, almost perfectly, the paint colour they chose. Mahogany is the paint colour, which is from our Sikkens timber stain colour range.
Peter was extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with. He is the sort of person who makes buying something that's a big-ticket item (and a Superior Shed was a big-ticket item for me) enjoyable and worry-free. His knowledge of the product and helpfulness in unhurriedly guiding the choice of specification was most impressive. The two fitters were both extremely polite, accommodating and very efficient.

While this is a brightly coloured shed, the translucent stain that allows the grain of the timber to still be visible creates a natural effect and allows the shed to fit in well with the customer’s garden.
Other features the customer chose to have include double glazing for the two windows, a security pack, and there is oak faced ply lining and insulation in the walls and ceiling inside, which will allow the customer to use their workshop through most of the year.
