This simple, chalet-style garden building is our Blakeney Summerhouse, and it has been installed in our customer’s garden in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire to use as a sheltered garden retreat to sit, relax and enjoy their garden from in comfort.
As a chalet-style summerhouse, the Blakeney has a roof overhang over the front gable, fully glazed double doors, and four sets of windows in total, allowing plenty of light inside, and altogether giving the look and feel of a beach hut.
This Blakeney is 2.4 x 2.4m in size in total, small enough to not be imposing on the customer’s modestly sized garden, and big enough to allow it to be furnished comfortably on the inside with enough room to manoeuvre.
Heavy duty felt has been used on the roof, which is a non-rip, heat-bonded felt with a long life expectancy, and the summerhouse has been finished off in our Light Oak preservative to keep the timber protected from fungi and woodworm for around six months before it will need repainting again.
I just wanted to let you know that we have been delighted with our Blakeney Summerhouse and it is getting a lot of use despite the appalling weather we have had since it went up on 13th June. The specification we eventually worked out with your help is exactly what we wanted and fits the site perfectly. Communication with the factory worked well and the team who came to install it did a very professional job. We will have no hesitation in recommending Crane to our friends.
