Farrow & Ball Painted Wiveton Summerhouse in Hickling, Norfolk
This beautifully painted garden building is our Wiveton Summerhouse
, and it has been selected by one of our customers based in Hickling, Norfolk for them to use it as a year-round garden retreat. They opted for our Wiveton as they liked how its octagonal shape would allow them to see lots of their garden whilst sat inside. Like all of our garden buildings, it was designed and hand-made to order inside our factory at our HQ in Narford, Norfolk before being delivered and installed at our customer’s address by our expert installations team.
Our Wiveton Summerhouse is available in five different sizes, ranging from 1.8 x 1.8m to 3.6 x 3.6m. Our customer has opted for the 1.8 x 2.5m size, which is the second smallest size we make. Our Wivetons are designed with windows in four out of the eight sides, as well as in the double doors, to afford a light and airy feel inside. Our customer has opted for our plain summerhouse windows that are double glazed and made using 4mm toughened safety glass.
Our customer has chosen to have the building clad with our FSC® certified shiplap cladding, which is machined from Scandinavian Redwood grown close to the Arctic Circle in Northern Sweden. The smooth cladding has been painted using the Farrow & Ball exterior paint system, a rich, fully opaque paint system that is anti-fungal and water resistant. Our customer has opted for a two-tone look using the shade Wimborne White on the window and door frames and Pigeon everywhere else. The paint work is complemented by the cedar shingle tiles on the roof, which will naturally weather to a silver/grey colour over time.
I'd just like to say how great our Wiveton Summerhouse is. Both my wife and I think it looks great and fits beautifully into the garden. We were most impressed with your fitters and the electricians.

To make the building suitable for year-round use, the walls and ceiling on our Wiveton Summerhouse comes lined and insulated as standard. On this particular summerhouse, our customer has also chosen to insulate the floor as well for additional comfort. The walls have been lined with natural matchboard and the heavy duty floorboards have had a natural lacquer applied, which will help to protect the timber while giving it a nice sheen.
