This contemporary garden studio is one of our Salthouse Studios, and it was has been installed for one of our customers based in Twyford, Berkshire. Our customer wanted a building that they could relax and unwind in throughout the year, which, with its full lining and insulation, our Salthouse is ideal for. As well as use as an extended living area, our Salthouses also make for the perfect garden office or crafting space as we are able to tailor them to suit your needs. As with all of our garden buildings, this garden studio was designed and hand-made to order at our HQ in Narford, Norfolk before it was delivered and assembled in the garden of our customer by our trusted installations team. Delivery and installation are included with all of our buildings as part of the end-to-end service we offer.

Our Salthouse Studios are available in more than 25 different standard sizes from 1.8 x 2.4m (6 x 8ft) to 4.8 x 6.0m (16 x 20ft), and we can also create more tailor-made sizes too, if required. This particular Salthouse measures 2.4 x 3.0m, with an internal height of 2.0m to comply with permitted development regulations. Our Salthouses are designed with a pent roof, which this customer has chosen to have lined with our standard option of torched-on heavy-duty roofing felt.

One of the distinguishing characteristics of our Salthouse Studio’s design are the floor-to-ceiling glass panels that line the front elevation and wrap round to the side. These full length, fully glazed windows allow for plenty of natural light inside, which was exactly what our customer was looking for as they wanted a building that would catch the evening sun. Our Salthouse Studios are also fitted with an opening fanlight window at the back for ventilation purposes.

We were impressed with the initial contact, visit and help from Jo. The installer worked hard and efficiently and were very polite and helpful during the whole process. The Salthouse Studio was completed by the end of the second day and we were very pleased with the result.

The shiplap cladding on the exterior of the building has been painted in the colour Slate from our exterior paint system, which is a high quality, fully opaque paint system, while the interior matchboard has been painted in the colour Ivory to give a light and airy feel inside. The internal flooring has been treated with a natural lacquer, which will help to protect the timber while also giving it a nice sheen. To ensure the building can be supplied with power and lighting, our customer has also chosen to add an electrical pack to their building as an additional extra.
