When you begin designing your building, one of the big choices you will need to make is which colour, or colours, to choose for the exterior. Colour is a wonderful thing: it has the ability to either lift and elevate your building to a beautiful garden focal point, or it can help camouflage your building and make it blend in for a more understated look.
Depending on the building design you choose, we have 5 main paint ranges for you to look through. Each building we produce is hand-sprayed in our Norfolk workshop to ensure a consistent, professional finish.
If you would like to order a sample of any of these paint colours to help make your decision, please Contact Us or call 01760 444229.
Inspired by nature, this colour palette has been carefully selected to offer you a range of shades that will enhance your garden building and complement a garden environment.
Our Exterior paint colours are fully opaque; the 2 coat system is proven to be the best possible protection for exterior timber, meaning that it achieves a very low maintenance, durable finish. Choose a single colour for your building if you wish, or you can also paint the doors and windows a different colour for a truly distinctive look.

Crane Garden Buildings have collaborated with Farrow & Ball to offer you our buildings in a specially selected range of their exterior paint colours. Farrow & Ball exterior eggshell paint has a mid-sheen finish, suitable for use on our garden buildings.
After spending many years developing the paint, they have created a highly durable product that is flexible and highly resistant to flaking, peeling, and colour fade, as well as being both fungal and water resistant.
Sikkens provides long-lasting protection for your building, enhancing the natural beauty of the timber with its translucent coverage. It was also shown to be the best translucent wood stain in trials carried out by TRADA (The Timber Research and Development Association).
Inspired by the special places cared for by the National Trust, these six colours have been specially selected for our National Trust paint range. They are natural, earthy colours that are sure to blend in well with your garden.
While you can choose to have your Classic Shed treated with a natural-looking light oak preservative externally, the Classic Shed, Summerhouse and Office all come with a choice of the below Classic paint colours as standard, with the Classic Summerhouse also offering the option of having the inside painted in the same colour as the outside.
Established in 1974 by David Crane, Crane Garden Buildings are proud to still be, at their heart, a Norfolk-based, family-run business, and a highly rated producer of high quality timber garden buildings.

The above colour charts are designed to provide an indication of the colours across our ranges: they shouldn’t be taken as an exact replication of colour. If none of these colours are suitable for your needs, we are able to match any colour of your choice at an extra cost if you would prefer to do so.
