Painted Langham Studio in Castle Acre, Norfolk

3.0 x 5.4m Langham Studio with Storage Partition painted in Ash from our exterior paint system

This large garden studio measures 3.0 x 5.4m and it has been installed as an art studio for a customer based in Castle Acre, Norfolk. They wanted a traditional looking building that was suitable for use around the year, so they chose our Langham Studio from our range of garden studios and offices. Once the type of building had been selected, our customer worked with one of our friendly advisors at our HQ in Narford, Norfolk to decide what features they wanted before it was designed by our CAD engineers and hand-built using FSC® Certified timber by the skilled craftsmen and women inside our factory. Delivery and installation of this building was included as part of our end-to-end service.

Our Langham Studios are ideally suited for use as an office or hobby room, which is why our customer selected it for their art studio. With it being an art studio, our customer wanted to ensure that plenty of natural light would be able to reach the inside of the building, so they chose to have both a triple and double window set installed, as well as windows in the double doors. It also needed to be comfortable for our customer to work in throughout the seasons, so the inside is fully lined and insulated, the windows are double glazed and an electric pack with heater has been added too. To decorate, the shiplap cladding on the exterior has been painted in the colour Ash from our exterior paint system, which is complemented nicely by the cedar shingles on the roof.

As our customer is an artist, they have lots of works of art, as well as equipment such as an easel, to store, so they have opted to have a storage partition incorporated into the design. The storage partition measures 3.0 x 1.2m and is accessed via one of our solid joinery-made doors.

All of our garden buildings are hand-made to order, so because of this, we were able to customise the standard design of this Langham to have an internal height of 2.1m and a lower roof pitch. This is so it met permitted development rights and could be installed without planning permission. Depending on where your building will be placed, and whether or not your property is a listed building, this may not always be possible so we would recommend using our planning permission calculator to see whether you’ll need to look into this before having a garden building installed.
