Whether you’re stowing away valuable cycling gear or storing weighty gardening equipment, a heavy-duty shed is a staple in the garden of any busy home. Designed to be superior in strength and security, a heavy-duty garden shed is a practical investment for those needing reliable and robust storage solutions.

What is a heavy duty shed?

Heavy-duty sheds are durable outdoor storage structures designed to withstand harsh weather conditions and frequent use. They provide secure storage for tools, equipment, and other essential items. These sheds are typically constructed using robust materials and reinforced components to ensure strength and longevity.

Why have a heavy duty shed?

One of the primary reasons for investing in a heavy-duty shed is to provide secure and weather-resistant storage space for tools, equipment, outdoor furniture, gardening supplies, bicycles, and other items. Heavy-duty sheds offer ample storage capacity and protection from the elements, ensuring that your belongings remain safe and neatly organised.

Another consideration when it comes to heavy-duty sheds is that they are often equipped with security features such as reinforced doors, heavy-duty locks, and integrated window bars to protect your belongings from theft and vandalism. These security features provide peace of mind knowing that your valuable items are safely stored and protected.

Finally, they are also incredibly versatile structures that can be used for a variety of purposes beyond simple storage. They can serve as workshops, hobby rooms, home offices, or even small living spaces, depending on your needs and preferences. Their durable construction and customisable features make them suitable for a wide range of uses.

Our Heavy Duty Shed

The benefits of a heavy-duty shed

Durability

Heavy-duty sheds are built to withstand tough conditions, including high winds, heavy snow loads, and extreme temperatures. They are constructed using robust materials and reinforced components, making them more durable and long-lasting compared to standard sheds. This durability ensures that your shed can withstand years of use without deteriorating or requiring frequent repairs.

Increased property value

Adding a heavy-duty shed to your property can increase its overall value by providing additional storage space and enhancing its functionality. Potential buyers may see the durable construction and versatility of a heavy-duty shed as a desirable feature, especially if they have storage needs or hobbies that require dedicated space.

Organisation

A heavy-duty garden shed helps keep your outdoor space tidy by providing designated storage areas for different items. This can help prevent clutter and make it easier to find and access the items you need when you need them. With proper organisation, you can maximise the efficiency and usability of your outdoor space.

Our heavy-duty shed features & considerations

Extra security measures

One of the Crane Garden Building signature extras is the heavy-duty security pack that can be added to any of the garden sheds or workshops. Comprising window bars, a seven-lever mortice lock and anti-theft bolts, the security pack has been designed with the protection of high-value items in mind.

Bespoke options

With us, bespoke really does mean bespoke. Our menu of additional extras includes partition walls, extra windows, extra doors, workbenches, heavy-duty flooring, insulation, electrics, heating and even air conditioning. Our product experts can walk you through the process.

Unrivalled materials

With more than 50 years of experience in making beautiful timber buildings by hand, Crane only uses the most superior materials to create your heavy-duty shed. Our FSC© certified Scandinavian Redwood is sustainably sourced from timber mills in northern Sweden, where it is grown slowly to ensure a superior composition with fewer knots and warping.

Our garden sheds are designed for low maintenance. Some basic maintenance like periodic cleaning and treating wood surfaces may be required to ensure they stay in top condition. We provide guidelines for easy upkeep.

Depending on which building you choose as your shed, you will have the option to have it unlined or lined and insulated for year-round use as an extra.

We recommend you check with your local planning authority for specific details. In the meantime, take a look at our guide to planning permission.

With proper insulation, yes, our sheds can be comfortably used throughout the year.

Our garden sheds are handcrafted using FSC© timber. We have a range of different roofing materials including felt, cedar shingles, composite tiles and black corrugated steel.

We offer double-glazing options for our sheds, providing additional insulation and noise reduction.

We use sustainably sourced timber in our sheds, ensuring our products are environmentally friendly. Find out more about our sustainably sourced timber.

Yes, we offer an electric pack extra on our garden sheds which pre-installs 4 double sockets, 1 external socket, an 8-way consumer unit, tube lightning on our sheds and garages and spotlights in our summer houses, studios, and garden rooms. There is also an option to have a wall-mounted heater and/or air conditioning unit for year-round comfort whatever the weather. Please note, we are unable to connect your shed to your mains supply, this will need to be carried out by a qualified electrician.

We have 14 show centres across England where you can visit and view our premium timber garden sheds. We always recommend coming to see our buildings before purchasing to allow you to see the quality and attention to detail that goes into each of our buildings.

We provide clear guidelines on how to prepare your garden for the installation of a shed.
