Summerhouse of the Season

What is Summerhouse of the Season?

We believe a garden building should be a natural part of daily life. Our customers prove every day that they can be true extensions of the home, serving as retreats, studios, or simply the most loved corner of the garden.

To celebrate this, we created Crane Summerhouse of the Season. It’s a chance for Crane customers to share their unique space with our wider community, inspiring fellow garden lovers and celebrating the many ways these buildings are enjoyed. The winner will receive a bespoke “Crane Summerhouse of the Season – Winner 2026” plaque, a symbol of craftsmanship, creativity, and prestige that can be proudly displayed on or inside their building.

How we choose the winner

Our marketing team will select the winner based on:

  • Visual appeal – how your summerhouse looks in your garden
  • Seasonal feel – take advantage of those Spring blooms!
  • Storytelling – how the space is used and enjoyed
  • Photo quality – clear and well-lit

The prize

  • A bespoke “Crane Summerhouse of the Season – Winner 2026” plaque, which we’ll present and photograph.
  • Your photos featured across Crane’s website, social media, PR stories, and more.

What happens if you win

By accepting the prize, you agree to take part in publicity:

  • A visit from Crane (where feasible) to photograph/film your building, the plaque, and a short interview or quote.
  • If you live too far from our head office or show sites for us to visit, we may instead ask you to provide your own photographs and a short written quote.
  • Your summerhouse and story may be featured on our website, social media, PR activity, and showroom displays.

Our Top Photography Tips

We’ve included these tips to help you get the best photos that will stand out to our internal panel of judges. Remember, your main photo is the one we’ll judge your entry on, so make it count. You can also add up to two extra photos if you’d like to show the interior, seasonal details or how you use your summerhouse.

1. Visual appeal – make your summerhouse the star

Choose one clear shot of your summerhouse as your main entry. Tidy the area around it and frame the whole building clearly in the shot. Try experimenting with angles, sometimes a side-on view reveals more of your summerhouse’s character than a straight-on photo.

2. Seasonal relevance – show off any Spring blooms!

Take advantage of sunny days, light colours and seasonal touches like spring decor or social gatherings. Late afternoon golden hour light can capture a beautiful springtime feel.

3. Storytelling potential – show how you use it

Let your story shine through. If you’d like, you can include up to two extra photos to show different perspectives. For example, an interior shot, some seasonal styling, or (if you’re happy to be featured) a photo of you using the space. Please make sure anyone pictured has given their consent, and parental permission is required if children are included.

4. Overall quality – keep it clear and bright

Good lighting makes all the difference, so use natural daylight where possible and avoid harsh shadows or very dark conditions. Hold your camera steady or rest it on something solid to prevent blur, and take a mix of wider and closer shots so you have options to choose from.
