Finance Manager

The Role:


Reporting directly to the CEO and part of the Senior Management Team, the role of Finance Manager will oversee all financial aspects of our operations ensuring we have accurate and timely financial reporting and robust forecasting models. The finance manager will act as the commercial conscience of the company ensuring that all leaders have the financial tools to aid decision making and fully understand the financial consequences of any actions they intend to take. An additional element is the oversight of operational elements including regulatory matters, internal and external audits and other ad-hoc tasks as required of such a role in a dynamic and growing family-owned company.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop, prepare and produce management accounts and reports which are timely, accurate and fit for purpose.

  • Continually review update, and implement improved financial control procedures, systems and processes within the Finance Department.
  • Provide timely and accurate information / reports to enable the CEO and Partners to make informed strategic and operational decisions, highlighting any areas of concern.
  • Take operational responsibility for audit, regulatory requirements, and other matters such as FSC audits, Insurance renewals and other ad-hoc tasks.
  • Formulate budgets and forecasts to meet the business and strategic targets and ensure the business is fully aware of the progress it is making.
  • Manage the Data Analytics function within Crane in support of the whole business.
  • Ensure statutory financial return’s (VAT, PAYE, National statistics Office etc) are produced which are accurate and within agreed timescales.
  • Manage the production of both weekly and monthly payroll and ensure payments are correct and appropriate statutory payments are made.
  • Develop, prepare, and analyse key KPI’s dashboards to ensure the business are meeting agreed financial targets and objectives and that the data produced remains relevant and continues to reflect the activities of the business.
  • Lead, develop and motivate direct reports to ensure they reach their full potential and subsequently contribute to the overall performance of the business

  • Analytical and Commercial approach to financial and business matters
  • Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making
  • Excellent people skills, able to motivate and develop other Managers and colleagues
  • Hold a professional qualification of AAT /ACMA/ACCA/ACA/ European equivalent
  • Full working knowledge of Sage 50, Sage Payroll and Microsoft Office particularly Excel
