Salthouse Studio in Bigbury, Devon

This modern-looking garden studio was recently installed on a farm in Bigbury, Devon for a customer who wanted a place where they could sit back and relax after a long day of working on their land. They opted for our Salthouse Studio as its floor-to-ceiling windows would allow them to see a lot of their surroundings while inside the building. Once our customer had chosen what design features they wanted on their building, it was designed in-house by our CAD team before being hand-made to order by the skilled craftsmen and women inside our Narford factory in Norfolk. It was then delivered and installed at our customer’s address by experts from our installations team.

From 1.8 x 2.4m (6 x 8ft) to 4.8 x 6.0m (16 x 20ft), there are over 25 different sizes for our Salthouse Studios, with this customer opting for our 2.4 x 3.0m (8 x 10ft) option. The design of this studio features a pent roof, that is covered in heavy duty felt, and shiplap cladding as standard, as well as a fully glazed front elevation that allows for plenty of natural light inside the building. They also come with fully glazed window panels on each side and an opening fanlight window at the back for ventilation purposes. To customise the design to suit their needs, this customer has opted for a set of double doors in the side as well as in the front and they have opted to paint the outside in the colour Ash from our exterior paint system.

Internally, the building is lined and fully insulated to make sure it is comfortable for use throughout the year. The walls are lined with ivory painted matchboard and the floor is made using our 19mm thick robust floorboards. This Salthouse Studio has the additional benefit of an electric pack as this customer wanted to add lighting and power inside their building.
