Heavy duty felt has been used on the roof to provide a thick, waterproof layer of protection, which has a life expectancy of 12-15 years. Shiplap cladding has been used to achieve a smooth, polished finish to the external timber, and the summerhouse has been painted in a Light Oak preservative, which protects the timber from fungi and woodworm.
The Blakeney is a chalet-style summerhouse with a roof overhang over the front gable, and plenty of natural light is allowed to illuminate the inside, with fully glazed double doors, and four sets of windows in total (the sides also have top-opening windows to allow fresh air inside).

The Blakeney summerhouse can be made as simple or as feature-filled as you would like with its flexible design: have felt or tiles on the roof, choose an opaque paint or this natural stain, have it large or small, insulated or not, it’s up to you.
