Art Studio

An artist and printmaker wanted a garden building to use as a creative space for their work. They opted for a Langham Studio for their art room, measuring 2.4 x 4.2m (8 x 14ft).

The Langham has an apex roof with desk height windows included as part of its design. The apex roof design offers an internal height of 2.87m, giving our customer plenty of height to paint large canvases. The desk height windows will flood the interior of this garden art studio with plenty of natural light and they will offer our customer a nice view of their garden while they work on smaller paintings at their desk. Our customer wanted to ensure as much light as possible could reach the inside of their art studio, so they chose to have 2 Velux® windows installed in the roof.

As our customer wanted to be able to use their outdoor art studio in every season, it was important to them that their new studio was equipped for year-round use. Our Langham Studio comes fully lined and insulated, with double glazing included too, giving our customer peace of mind that they can comfortably use their art studio during the cooler months of the year. Our customer also chose to have our electric pack installed as extra, supplying their art room with power and lighting.

As standard, the walls and ceiling of our Langham Studio are lined with natural matchboard, offering a natural, warm feel inside. Our customer lined and painted the walls inside their building themselves, but we can supply your art studio with the walls and ceiling painted. We offer the option of Ivory painted matchboard, or a choice of 8 neutral colours from Farrow & Ball. You could opt for a natural ceiling and painted walls, the walls and ceiling painted in the same colour, or two contrasting colours for an alternative look.

As well as choosing the design options for the interior, there are plenty of decisions to be made with the exterior too. The Langham comes painted in your choice of colour from our Exterior Paint System and you also choose the roof covering. The colour our customer chose was Slate, with cedar shingles on the roof. The exterior is weatherboard clad and guttering has also been installed.
