Our Superior Garden Sheds are robust and ideal for secure storage, a hobby room or workshop.

Available in a wide range of sizes, you can have a simple shed, or we can tailor your building to include extra features, such as electrics, lining and insulation, and a security pack.

To obtain a price for your ideal garden shed, please click on the Create My Shed tab below.

Building Sizes

Our Sheds and Workshops are available in a wide range of standard sizes, and we can tailor make sizes as well, from the very small, to the very large, all depending on your needs.

If you would like to know more about our non-standard sizes and designs, please contact us on 01760 444229 with your queries.

Building Designs

Choose either a pent or apex roofed design to suit your space and personal requirements. You can then decide where you would like your doors and windows, and if you require a higher eave height.

Apex Roof - Door(s) in Gable

Apex Roof - Door(s) in Side

Pent Roof - Door(s) in Gable

Pent Roof - Door(s) in Side

Window Options

The windows are also made in-house by our joiners: they measure 610 x 610mm (2’ x 2’), they are made from 75 x 50mm framing and are finished with 4mm toughened safety glass. You can choose where you would like your windows, whether you would like to make any opening, or indeed whether you would prefer no windows at all.

You can opt for additional windows and double glazed windows if you require them, and we can also offer Georgian effect windows, or Velux® windows in the roof to suit your needs.

Additional Windows

You may wish to increase the number of windows in your building for added light.

Opening Windows

Substitute any fixed window for an opening sash. Our opening sashes are top hung and are fitted with a brass casement stay.

Georgian Windows

Have Georgian windows for a more traditional look and added style.

Double Glazing

Have your windows double glazed for added insulation and reduced condensation.

Velux® Roof Windows

Add one or more Velux® windows to your building to gain extra natural light, perfect if your shed will be surrounded by tall shrubs.

Cladding Options

Our timber cladding is machined from very high quality Redwood grown in Northern Sweden, close to the Arctic Circle.

Due to the low temperature in this part of the world, these slowly grown trees produce a much more dense and stable timber than others. The timber mill we partner with, and have very close links to, is FSC® certified like ourselves.

We machine our cladding into particularly thick boards, and because it's a slowly grown timber with an exceptionally close grain, the additional benefits of our cladding are its strength and durability. We machine a capillary groove into our shiplap to reduce the risk of water ingress; and also give our shiplap rounded edges so that paints and stains grab and adhere with maximum effectiveness and coverage.

We clad your building in shiplap as standard, but we also offer weatherboard cladding for a more rustic finish.

Shiplap Cladding - (ex 19 x 125mm)

We machine our shiplap into particularly thick boards. Our Joiners plane the shiplap giving a smooth surface finish, which looks great painted.

Weatherboard Cladding - (21>8 x 125mm)

Our weatherboard cladding is machined from the same high quality timber as the shiplap, but is left sawn which gives a more rustic look to your building.

Floor Options

Our standard and robust floorboards are set on closely spaced tanalised floor joists, but we can also offer heavy duty flooring if you are planning on storing particularly heavy items or machinery inside your new Superior Shed.

Should you be spending long periods of time in your shed then we would also advise on our underfloor insulation.

Standard ex 19mm thick

Heavy Duty ex 38mm thick

Roofing Options

With our Superior Sheds, we offer a wide range of roofing material options, so whether you want a standard, simple shed, or something a bit more durable and attractive, we can help.

Heavy Duty Felt

This is our standard roofing material: it is an extreme wear, heavy duty, 35kg green mineralised felt that is a non-rip material, and is applied with a propane torch to increase its longevity.

Cedar Shingle Tiles

We use only the finest quality Canadian Blue Label Cedar Shingles expertly tiled by our own skilled craftsmen. They give a traditional finish, and the original terracotta colour will 'silver' with age. They are expected to last 25-35 years.

Slate Effect Tiles - Grey or Terracotta

These individually laid synthetic slates bring nature and technology together to provide the ultimate protection against UV rays, wind, hail and fire. This roofing product carries a 40 year limited warranty.

Security Pack

Our Sheds and Workshops are exceptionally strong and robust. We have devised a unique Security Pack that will complement this structure and be of benefit if any items of value are to be stored inside.

Since the introduction of our Security Pack in 1994 theft from our customers sheds has been virtually eradicated. We offer a 3 step Security Pack consisting of window bars mortised into the window frames, non-returnable screws are used on the hinges of the door, and we have worked with a lock manufacturer to produce our unique 7 lever security lock.

Security Lock

A heavy duty sliding bolt with a fully steel encased 7 lever lock. It is anti-sawing, anti-picking, anti-cropping and anti-prising. Each lock has its own unique pair of keys.

Security Screws

Non-returnable security screws on the hinges of the door make it impossible to unscrew hinges.

Window Bars

13mm (1/2 inch) stainless steel bars are mortised into the window frame during manufacture.

Paint Systems

Our sheds and Workshops come treated with light oak wood preservative as standard, which protects the timber from fungi and woodworm and gives the timber a natural looking sheen. We also offer three paint ranges to choose from: these are Exterior, Farrow & Ball and Sikkens, to give the best possible paint options for your building.

Lining and Insulation

In order for you to use your building all year-round, to increase your comfort and decrease any noise levels, we can line and insulate our Superior Sheds, which also finishes the inside off in an attractive manner.

You can choose horizontal natural matchboarding for a practical finish, which includes insulation in the walls and ceiling. Floor insulation can be chosen separately for the full year-round use experience.

Insulation

For Sheds and Workshops we firstly trap a breathable paper membrane between the studwork and the external cladding during manufacture to act as a moisture trap, before insulating.

Horizontal Natural Matchboard Lining

We can line with our highest grade tongue and groove horizontal matchboarding (15mm thickness and 110mm width) offering a natural, yet practical finish for shelving and hooks.

Expertly Finished

For that extra finishing touch, we fit battens and skirting boards to achieve a tidy look that our customers really appreciate.

Roof Overhang

A roof overhang can provide additional protection to the facade of your building, as well as offer shade and rain coverage. The overhang can also give a more cabin-style design finish.

Electric Pack

For lighting and using any equipment in your building, you may wish to consider our electric pack. Professionally fitted by qualified electricians who take all the wiring to a consumer unit ready for you to connect to your electricity supply. Internal wiring will be fitted behind any internal lining, and we can also supply your building with a heater, if you so wish.

If you choose to have an electric pack, you will get:

4 double 13 amp switched sockets

A gang light switch

A waterproof double external 13 amp socket

An 8 way consumer unit: the main switch takes 2 slots - 63 amp MCB - 16 amp and 6 amp blanks

A fluorescent single light fitting (more are supplied depending on the size of the shed)

A Thermostatic 2kva wall heater (this is optional)

Partitions

Make your building multi-functional by sectioning the space into separate rooms.

Workbenches

Add your chosen size workbench to your building to aid your DIY or hobby needs. Our workbenches are 900mm tall, and 600mm deep, and for a solid, sturdy finish, we use oak-faced plywood.

Base

All our buildings require a level, solid concrete base of the correct size.

The single most important part of installing a garden building is the base. Bases must be:

  • Level within a 6mm tolerance to ensure the longevity of your building
  • Of the correct size (please follow the base plan we send you)
  • Square i.e. have right angled corners

A concrete base supports your building in the best possible way, adding longevity, as well as creating a substantial distance between your building and surface water.

Concrete base in a customer's gardenWe can supply a 100mm deep reinforced concrete base ready for your building, laid by our professionals, in advance of your building being installed by us. The site must be clear and level within 100mm for us to do this.

The base should always be a minimum of 50mm out of the ground to prevent surface water or puddles affecting your building i.e. rotting it.

The base you have must be made to the plans we give you when you order your building, whether we install the base, or you get a trusted builder to do it for you.

Bases for larger buildings, and in particular garages, need to be built to exact dimensions - we create special base drawings for our garages, since they sit directly on the concrete base and must be anchored into place.

Please note: If you intend to fully or partially surround the building base with hard paving we strongly suggest the installation of a French drain between the paving and base to prevent rain bouncing off the hard surface and driving up under the building, which in turn could cause damp and rot. A French drain is a simple small trench, dug around your building and filled with aggregate that will allow surface water to drain away.

Always get your garden building base laid by a professional, whether that is us, or a local builder you trust.

We constantly strive to ensure all our materials and techniques are the best that we can source and provide. We lead the market in producing exceptional quality timber buildings: couple this with our personal, end-to-end service, and you will be delighted with your building.
