Proving that Norfolk is a wonderful place to live, here are some of the events going on in the county this August…
Truckfest is taking place at the Norfolk Showground this coming weekend, as well as an event called Fairytales & Legends in King’s Lynn town centre, and next weekend the Grand Norwich Duck race is being held on the river Wensum.
Truckfest East at the Norfolk Showground – 19th-20th August
If you want a loud, fun weekend packed with car crushing monster trucks, parading trucks of all different shapes, sizes and colours, family fun and live music, this event will certainly be for you!
It is taking place over both Saturday and Sunday, and it is a packed programme with evening entertainment, as well as celebrity guests from Ice Road Truckers and Storage Hunters.
Fairytales & Legends in King’s Lynn – 20th August
For a bit more of a low-key, but some would say an equally exciting time, characters from your favourite fictional stories will be strolling around King’s Lynn town centre on Sunday, from 10am-4pm. There will be face painting, hairstyling, and pirate tattoos, heroes and heroines to meet, workshops to create super-hero capes, comic books, and even fire-breathing dragon heads!
The Grand Norwich Duck Race 2017 – 27th August
For a quacking good time, you can put a duck in the Grand Norwich Duck Race, starting from St George’s Bridge at 2pm, and urge it to the finish line. There will be around 3,000 small ducks in the individual race, and then larger painted ducks will be used in the corporate race at 2.30pm.
It is £2 to sponsor a duck for the race, and the money raised will go to Break charity.
If you’re planning on going to any of these events, and you venture onto the A47, why not come and pop into our Narford Show Centre, located between Swaffham and King’s Lynn, just off the A47? You can’t miss us!
You’ll be able to come and look at our buildings, giving you inspiration to have a Garage to tinker in, a hobby room to create costumes in, or maybe you just like collecting rubber ducks and you want a Summerhouse to keep them in!
