13 - 19 April is National Gardening Week - a scheme run by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) and, in recent years, has grown to become one of the country's biggest celebrations of gardening.
It aims to bring thousands of people, communities, charities, gardens and retailers together to get involved in fresh air and (hopefully) warm sunshine and undertake activities in the garden - anything from building a bee hotel, to planting trees, building a willow fence or perhaps even taking the time to help tidy up and plant some flowers in an elderly neighbour's garden.
There are lots of different events being held around the country during the week and Friday 17 April is National Open Gardens Day; many gardens, including RHS at Wisley are opening their gates free for you to enjoy their splendour. Its the perfect time of year to enjoy a garden - the warmer weather is bringing the blossom out into bloom and there's nothing quite like walking around a garden, the sound of birdsong the only thing to punctuate the peace.
Even if you aren't able to make it to any of the organised events, why not make the most of your own garden and use it as an excuse to get out and do the odd jobs that have accumulated over the winter.
While you're out and about, why not take the opportunity to visit one of our show centres, located in Narford, Norfolk, Edwalton, Nottinghamshire, Burford, Oxfordshire or Newbury in Berkshire and experience first hand, more than 40 on-site display buildings.
With a lead time of around 10-14 weeks, there is still time to order a garden shed, summerhouse, garden office or greenhouse in time for the summer. Plus, you can design your own in our Online Garden Building Planner tool and tailor the door, window, interior and exterior design to your exact requirements.
