Latest COVID-19 Update For Our Customers

By Sarah Rumbles - 23rd April 2020

Article updated on 18th May

Crane is Fully Open for Business

We are happy to say that all three sections of Crane Garden Buildings are operational again, with the factory, installations teams and show centres up and running.

During the lockdown period from 24th March, our company partners were busy working with our health & safety, facilities, and production managers to create safe working procedures for our staff to return to. This meant that, with the correct PPE and social distancing measures, our factory was able to reopen on Monday 11th May.

At the same time, our installations teams were also able to return to work. This was and is done with complete support from our customers who know our new procedures and have been wonderful in their patience during these trying times.

After the Prime Minister’s update on lockdown rules on Sunday 10th May, garden centres were able to open last Wednesday, which meant that we could also start preparing to open our show centres as well. With the exception of our head office in Narford, Norfolk, all our show centres were able to reopen by the 15th May. Our head office is the only show centre that isn’t attached to a garden centre, which is why we can’t open for visitors at the moment; however, our sales team are still able to take phone calls during this time.

While things are not fully back to normal, and won’t be for a while yet, we are incredibly grateful for our staff who are back working and who have enabled us to return, as well as our customers who have been incredibly patient and understanding during the 6 weeks we were unable to manufacture or install buildings.

To find out the new opening hours of our show centres, please do so by clicking here. Also, if you are planning on visiting one of our show centres, we’re sure our sales staff will be thrilled to see you, but please call ahead to double check they’re open, and make sure to adhere to the strict social distancing measures in place at all our sites.

Article updated on 6th May

We are pleased to announce that we are returning to work with a reduced workforce on Monday 11th May. This is following weeks of hard work and planning to ensure the safety of our colleagues, customers, and the community.

This means that manufacturing will begin again, and our installations teams will be back on the roads.

Our show sites will remain closed; however, you can still:

  • Shop with us online – we have a live chat you can use with advisors waiting to help.
  • Send us an email – for customer services or for sales enquiries.
  • Phone us – our head office will do all they can to help during this period.

If you have any questions at this time, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your support, and stay safe.

News update from 23rd April

We are now four weeks into the Government issued lockdown to help protect the country from the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

Following the Government advice on the 23rd March, Crane’s company partners made the decision to close our show sites, stop factory production and bring the installation teams home.

This was done as a priority for the protection of our colleagues, customers, and the wider community.

This is still our number 1 priority, and with that in mind, we want to let you know that we are currently doing everything we can to find ways of reopening safely. We will try to do this as quickly as possible, and we will make sure to keep you updated on when we will reopen.

In the meantime, however, you can still:

  • Shop with us online – we have a live chat you can use with advisors waiting to help.
  • Send us an email – for customer services or for sales enquiries.
  • Phone us – our head office will do all they can to help during this period.

For further updates on this situation, please keep an eye on this news feed, as well as our social media pages.

Thank you for your support and understanding at this time, and we hope to see you soon!

Stay well and stay safe.
