February Goings-On at Newbury

Our team on the ground at our Newbury show site have informed us of some fun workshops that are going on at Hillier Garden Centre in Hermitage, which is where our show centre is located.

On Friday 7^th of February 2020, you can join the Hillier team at 10am for a bird care talk with celebrity vet Matt Brash, star of the ITV series ‘Zoo Vet at Large’. Matt will talk to you about the types of birds you may be able to spot in your own gardens and will be on-hand to offer his advice about the best way to care for wild birds. The session will also include a 30-minute question and answer session with Matt, who will use his many years of experience of working with and caring for animals to any questions you may have about wildlife and his extraordinary career. Refreshments will be provided for this session, consisting of a tea or coffee with tray-bake, and anyone who attends will receive an exclusive bird care discount to use in-store on the day.

If birding isn’t something that interests you, perhaps a cookery class inside Hillier’s Mulberry & Thyme restaurant will! On Wednesday 5^th of February 2020 from 2-4pm, Hillier are offering you the chance to join their one pot cookery class, which includes demonstrations from their experts on how to create impressive one pot recipes to wow your family and friends. The demonstration includes a variety of meat, fish and vegetarian options, plus a baked chocolate pudding recipe for those with a sweet tooth. You’ll have the opportunity at the end of the session to sample everything that has been freshly prepared that afternoon, as well as having a goodie from the class to take home and helpful recipe cards.

They will be more than happy to give you a tour around our display buildings and answer any questions you may have.
