Last week, on the 7th of September 2019, Emma, our Operations Admin Assistant, took part in the Thames Bridges Challenge to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Held in London, the Thames Bridges Challenge is a 25km walk starting at Putney Bridge, that takes challengers over 16 of the capital’s iconic bridges before finishing in Southwark.
Emma managed to complete the walk in 4 hours, 41 minutes and 52 seconds making her the 142nd person to finish out of 2,733 participants!
To help Emma with her fundraising efforts, we held a bake sale here at Crane HQ on the Friday before her challenge. We had a whole host of baked goods, including sausage rolls, Victoria sponge cake, a Bakewell tart and chocolate orange cookies, that were sold and then devoured by our head office and factory teams, in order to raise £104 towards Emma’s target.
Emma has so far managed to raise an astonishing £650 which will go directly to the Alzheimer’s Society to help fund their efforts in trying to find a cure against the heartbreaking effects of Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
If you would like to add your own contribution to such a worthy cause, you can donate to Emma’s JustGiving page here.
We think you've done an amazing job, Emma - well done!
