Production Manager


Reporting directly to the Senior Partner this role will be responsible for the management of all manufacturing and production areas, ensuring buildings are produced on time and to the expected quality. Using your experience you will continually review all areas of the manufacturing operation and challenge process and procedures to ensure costs are controlled and profitability delivered. As part of the senior management team you will be the go to expert in regard to this area and play a key role in the further growth of the business, providing technical and professional support for colleagues and peers.


 Key Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the day to day running of the factory, managing a team of 5 supervisors and up to 60 operatives
  • Ensure production targets are delivered to agreed daily, weekly forecasts and ensure all orders are fulfilled to schedule
  • Ensure a robust system for quality management is in place, working to agreed specifications and tolerances
  • All aspects of people management including recruitment, training, performance management and cost control
  • Encourage and support continuous development ensuring supervisors and staff within the team realise their full potential
  • Facilitate an open and productive culture where people take pride and responsibility in what they do and feel a sense of achievement and self-worth
  • Oversee all aspects of stock control ensuring ordering systems are working and correct levels of raw materials are maintained
  • Ensure digital management system is being utilised correctly, liaising with IT and systems department to identify concerns or errors
  • Working closely with the H&S Manager, continuously review all processes to ensure a “safety first” ethos is delivered whilst maximising productivity
  • Deliver continuous improvement on cost and quality utilising Lean manufacturing methodology
  • Assist in the implementation of new strategies, major projects and Capital improvements

Required Skills & Abilities


  • Demonstrate a proven track record of management within a manufacturing or production setting
  • Progressive leadership/management style prepared to lead from the front with a can do attitude
  • Knowledge of implementing Lean manufacturing principles and CI methodology
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and coaching skills
  • A strong communicator who works logically and systematically
  • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise work load

Qualifications & Education 


  •  Ideally educated to degree level

Working hours will be based on a 40 hour week, working Monday to Friday with flexibility inline with business needs.
