This 4.2 x 5.4m Burnham Studio
has recently been installed in our customer’s garden in Bulmer, in the Yorkshire hills.
You can’t see in this photo, but there is a wonderful view of the Yorkshire countryside spread out behind the person wielding the camera. Behind the Burnham, you can see a large hedge, and behind that is the customer’s house; the hedge obstructs the picturesque view from anyone in the house, so this Burnham will become a wonderful spot for the customer’s family to enjoy their garden and the view around them.
Once fitted with comfortable furnishings, a table, pictures and other homey/entertainment touches, they will be able to enjoy this Burnham to the full and generate many wonderful memories with their family and friends.
The Burnham and Salthouse Studios are particularly suited to becoming outdoor living areas because of their floor length glass windows and doors. This Burnham has got a set of double doors to the right (with polished chrome door furniture) and three sets of full length windows next to them, which creates a whole wall of glass. The full length glass windows continue round the sides as well with a set each on either side that creates an extension to the glass wall.
This glass wall not only increases a person’s visibility of their surrounding area, but it also lets in a lot of light and makes the inside feel very airy and spacious.
There are two fan light windows on the back wall of the studio, which are great for ventilation on warmer days.
Well I'm delighted that all appeared to go so smoothly for you team who came over to construct the "shed"! Thank you to you and all staff involved in purchase and construction of the building: it is a superb piece of work and the quality of the workmanship is much to be admired. We are delighted with our "Burnham studio" although maybe it should be re-named Burnham Palace! Please convey a message of appreciation to all your staff involved including those at your base, your friendly fitters like the three musketeers in the photo and sub-contractors such as Callum the electrician.
Mr & Mrs M - Cambridgeshire - March 2017
There are cedar shingles on the apex roof; these are made of a very peculiar but beautiful material, as they are a bright terracotta colour when new, but with age they react with the elements in the air and start to change colour, and silvery flecks start to develop in them.
The customer also opted for scalloped fascias, which give the building an extra bit of character. It is such a small detail, but it is very noticeable and makes the building all the prettier.
The guttering is in white, which fits very well with the overall colour scheme. Apart from the brightness of the cedar shingles, this is a very neutral coloured building, as it has been finished off in the Pebble Valtti paint.
Inside, the customer opted for painted matchboard lining and insulation; this looks great in buildings like these that will be used as outdoor living spaces, as it gives the room a very comfy, homey feel to it. The customer also wanted an electrical pack with heater, so along with the insulation, this Garden Studio will actually be suitable to use all year round.
