National Trust Flatford Summerhouse with Opening Windows
This National Trust Flatford Summerhouse
has been installed in our customer’s garden in West Kirby, Merseyside, surrounded by a patio and shrubbery to use as a secluded spot, so the customer and her husband can sit and admire their garden in comfort.
At 2.4 x 3.0m in size, this is the largest Flatford we make in our Norfolk factory, so the customer will have plenty of room to comfortably set up the inside of their summerhouse.
The Flatford has a sloping pent roof and a roof overhang, with the half-glazed double doors and four windows in total (the window on each gable can be opened). The windows are leaded in style, and the door and window furniture is made from cast iron, in the Fleur-de-Leys style to add a nice amount of traditional elegance to the building.
Corrugated sheeting has been used on the roof, and the external cladding has been formed of roughly cut vertical boards to mirror the style of the National Trust outbuildings this range was based on.
Earls Grey is the paint colour used on the summerhouse: this is a neutral colour, and is one of the six that were specially chosen from the National Trust paint range to reflect the colours of nature.
There are four Summerhouses and four Garden Sheds in the National Trust range in total, and all of which are very traditional in design.
