National Trust Lavenham Summerhouse
It has been installed at our customer’s equally traditional looking garden in Crambrook, Kent, to use as a little paint studio. At 1.8 x 2.4m in size, there will be enough room inside for the customer to set up her easel and paints and let the lovely view of her garden inspire her. When she isn’t using the summerhouse to paint in, she can also use it for its traditional purpose and relax in it and enjoy her garden.
The Lavenham, like the whole of the National Trust range of garden buildings, is so traditional in appearance because they have been designed with the outbuildings of National Trust properties in mind. These outbuildings were all built using traditional techniques with the styling of their time, and while we have kept the features as traditional as possible, the techniques used to make them are modern to ensure the quality of the buildings remains to our high standard.
The traditional features that have been incorporated into the range of summerhouses and garden sheds are the vertical cladding, the cast iron door furniture and the corrugated roofing material.
The paint colours chosen for the range have been picked out because of their naturalness, which allows them to blend in wonderfully well in customers’ gardens. The colour this customer chose is Terrace Green, which is a dark green, but it blends in well against the dark green of the trees and hedges surrounding it.
If you like the traditional appearance of the National Trust Summerhouses, please have a look at the range so you can see which design would be most suited to your tastes and your garden.
