Burnham Garden Studio with a Lacquered Floor
Living in the beautiful Devonshire hills, the customer has got a striking backdrop to give inspiration for his art. The customer has got a very long garden that goes beyond the picture at the back, and, being on a slope, the top part of the garden is higher than the row of houses, meaning that the customer has got an amazing view.
The Burnham is perfect for an art studio because of its full-length windows for light, a fanlight window for ventilation and full insulation, so he can use the building all year round.
This particular Burnham is 2.2 x 3.0m in size, it has terracotta-coloured cedar shingles on the roof and our exterior paint system in the colour Sage on the cladding; these are two contrasting colours that stand out but look really good together. On the inside, there is also natural matchboard lining and insulation and a natural lacquered floor. This means that the colour is the same throughout the inside, with natural colouring on the walls and floor; the lacquer will help to protect the timber from traipsing feet and any paint that might fall on it, as well as giving it a lovely sheen.

The customer also wanted an electric pack installed in their building, which, along with the full insulation, will ensure that it is suited to year-round use.
We use the same timber across our whole range; it is FSC® certified Scandinavian Redwood (Scots Pine) that has been grown slowly for over 130 years. This is to ensure that the occurrence of dead knots are rare, and the timber itself becomes very dense, increasing the quality greatly.
Along with this highest quality of timber, we strive to use the best materials across every stage of making our garden buildings, and we employ highly skilled craftsmen to ensure that the quality materials are handled as they should be.
