7 x 6ft Chalet Summerhouse

This 7 x 6ft (2.1 x 1.8m) Blakeney Summerhouse has been installed at our customer’s property to be used as a craft room for use throughout the year.

This Blakeney is a tailor-made size at 2.1 x 1.8m. As standard the smallest size we make is 2.4 x 1.8; however, this was too big to fit in the available space in our customer’s garden, so we found out the size that would fit, and our in-house team redesigned the building to make it the correct size for our customer.

The Blakeney is a chalet-style summerhouse, and it has a roof overhang to give it its beach hut feel. A single door, and three sets of windows have also been included in the design. The window in the left side can be opened, which is also positioned where the customer’s crafting desk will be set up to allow easy access to fresh air on warmer days.

The roof of this summerhouse has been covered in our heavy duty felt, which is heat-bonded onto the roof to increase longevity. Externally, the customer chose shiplap cladding for a smooth finish, and the building is painted in our Exterior paint range in the opaque colour, Sandstone.

The customer wants to be able to use their building in comfort throughout the year, so they chose to have double glazed windows, floor insulation, and the breathable paper lining in the walls and ceiling to allow the customer to line and insulate the building themselves.

The final touch to this lovely craft studio is the polished brass door and window furniture to enhance the traditional charm of the building.
